"A festival of sister-hood" in Nepal is soon coming to a closure this year (mid-August to mid-September), the celebration continues within each of the women. This most famous festival among Nepali women ("Teej"), is celebrated for happiness in marriage with well-being of the spouse and children, and purification of own body and soul.
The Teej songs "allow women to effect change in their respective societies by giving them a public voice"; with the "red" color being auspicious throughout the celebration.
We hope that through our organization we can share news and stories of Nepali women; and through that, we hope for your support.
