We are a social enterprise aiming to empower the marginalized by increasing the public awareness on their poverty-stricken circumstances and sourcing for sustainable ways to integrate them in the society. In addition, we seek to sustain the necessary education for children-in-need in the developing countries through our products and outreach programs.
At Purnama, we want to create quality handmade products that do better; for local communities, for the environment and for the world.
The business is a social enterprise, geared to make a meaningful and positive difference in the lives of women and children in Asia, by creating quality products that can be marketed to create livelihood, education and environmentally conscious sustainable practices.
Our sustainability message is borne-out through our supply-chain model. We source all our materials and artisans locally in our impact communities; eliminating the middle-man. At no time do we use 3rd parties to source parts, materials or workmanship from large export countries and markets. We use and maximize sustainable practices at every possibility. This includes using natural dyes and traditional processes in our Pokhara line of cotton bags and accessories; up-cycling locally procured used tyres and using hand-made processes in our Java line of up-cycled accessories. We also plan our shipments to lessen our carbon footprint.
